Baska Voda is on the Makarska Riviera, 15 km south of Makarska. In the thirties of the last century, the brothers Sikavica built the first tourist object in the city, the Hotel Slavija which in 1936 received a medal from London. After the Second World War, new hotels, apartments and guest houses were built.
The tourism grew and became the most important industry in the last ten years. Today Baska Voda offers you next to sun and sea, bathing and pleasant walks, historical monuments and a museum, attractive cultural and entertainment events. Very interesting are religious feasts – especially the Good Friday (celebrated by all the villages in the municipality, 15 km), the day of St.Nicholas protector of Baska Voda (6th December) and the day of St. Lawrence (10th August) on which there is a festival with the choir of the Makarska Riviera.
Various sports and recreational facilities (tennis, football, handball, table tennis, golf, fishing, hiking, etc.) are also available. In the evening entertainment is held in bars, on the terraces and disco clubs. Local specialties are offered by many restaurants and inns. Also interesting are the walks at the foot of Biokovo Mountain, places Bast and Topice are known for their cheese, ham and bread. We also recommend walks to Promajna and the fishing village Bratus.
